Dunes Coaches
Rick Ashmore
Rick Ashmore founded the Dunes Volleyball Club in 1989. Coach Ashmore coached at Michigan City Rogers, Lake Central, Crown Point, and Saint Joseph High School in Michigan. He has won over 800 matches High School matches. He has won nine conference titles. Coach Ashmore has coached over two hundred girls who have gone on to play in college. Coach Ashmore's 18's team won the USA Nationals in 2007. Coach Ashmore has two children – Jamie, played volleyball for Grand Valley State University is the current Indiana University South Bend Volleyball Coach; and son Levi who works in the music business in Los Angeles, California.
Jamie Ashmore
This is her 2nd year back with Dunes. She has been involved with Dunes, in some capacity, for 20 years. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Sports Management. While attending GVSU, she helped lead her school to it’s first-ever NCAA DII National Championship in 2005. She was also garnered NCAA All-America Honors her senior season. She is also a graduate of LaPorte High School, where she earned All-State Second Team honors. In 2010 her club team placed 5th at the AAU Junior National Championships in the 18 Club division. She is the first Head Coach at Indiana University South Bend.
Troy Campbell
This is his 14th year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. He graduated from Westville High School, where his volleyball team won two Volleyball State Championships in 1991 and 1992. He was named to Volleyball Magazines FAB 50 his senior year. He went on to receive a scholarship to play at IPFW. He has been a coach at Westville High School, LaPorte High School, New Buffalo High School in Michigan, Kesling Middle School, and Marquette High School. While at Marquette, he coached his team to State Championships in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007,2008 and 2009.

Cindy Cummings
Cindy Cummings started playing in the Dunes Volleyball Club when she was in the 6th grade and played until 11th grade. She played volleyball in high school for 3 years with Rick Ashmore as my coach. She lives Laporte, and is married with a 9 year old daughter (Bailey). She coached for Michigan City High School as the freshman coach for the 2 years and has coached for the Dunes Volleyball Club for three years.
Ashley Edinger
This is her 1st year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. Ashley is currently the graduate assistant volleyball coach at Valparaiso University. She previously helped lead Illinois to a top 5 ranking in her last season. Edinger started every match in her career at Illinois at libero until suffering a career-ending injury in late October against Purdue. Despite the injury, she concluded her Ilini career as the school’s all-time digs leader with 1,921 career digs, good for ninth all-time in Big Ten history. She holds the top two spots on Illinois’ single-season digs chart, including a record 564 digs during her sophomore year. A five-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, Edinger earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in each of her seasons with the Ilini.
James W. Daugherty II
He started playing volleyball in 1973. He played club ball from 1977 through 1984, he was an assistant coach at Plymouth High School in 1984 and 85 and finished runner up in the state both years. He became head coach at Culver Comm. High School in 1986 where he won the school’s first volleyball sectional and conference titles. He has coached at Knox and a second time at Plymouth as an assistant coach. In 1984 and 1985 he coached with the South Bend Shamrocks volleyball club, in 1986 he started and founded the Marshall County Volleyball Club where he was a board member for 7 years. And was one of the people responsible for starting the North Central Indiana Power Volleyball League. He has coached in several local area club teams. He is in his second year as the head coach at Argos High School volleyball team.
Jan Fitzpatrick
She has been involved with Dunes Volleyball Club for 13 seasons. Coach Fitzpatrick graduated from LaPorte High School, where she played tennis and volleyball. Her daughter Laurel played for Dunes Volleyball Club and is also a graduate of LaPorte High School and was on the volleyball team. Laurel played volleyball for Stephan F Austin University in Texas. Coach Fitzpatrick and her daughter both won high school volleyball Sectionals titles.
Lynn Grenough (Clarkson)
This is her 6th year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. Coach Grenough played volleyball at LaPorte High School, where her team won two Sectional titles. She then went on to play at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She graduated from UIC with a degree in Architecture, and also completed her Masters in Architecture from UIC. She has coached the Kesling Middle School, 7th graders, and Morgan Township Junior Varsity volleyball team. Lynn and her husband Dan live in LaPorte.
Amy Losinski
This is her 4th year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. She graduated from Michigan City High School. She was an assistant coach at North Judson San Pierre for five years. She assisted them to three Sectional titles while there. Amy currently lives in LaPorte with her daughter, McKenzie, and son, Bradyn.
Kelly Losinski
This is her 16th year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. Coach Losinski graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management degree. She then went on to help assist Marquette High School to an IHSAA State Runner-Up title and State Championship berth. After having a successful two years at Marquette, Kelly went on to coach at North Judson San Pierre High School. While there for six years, she coached her team to three Sectional titles.
Monica Macellari
This is her 3rd year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. As an Outside Hitter and Defensive Specialist, Monica spent four years on a volleyball scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, she served as the President of all student-athletes, and graduated with summa cum laude status. After graduation, Monica coached at St. Anthony's Grade SchooLast year, she was the Assistant Varsity volleyball coach at St. Joseph High School in South Bend. Currently, Monica is earning her Master's Degree at DePaul University, while serving as a fundamentals instructor for the club.
John Presnell
This is his 21st year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. John has been involved in volleyball for over 40 years. He has accomplished many things in volleyball, from an Indiana State High School Championship in 1977, to dozens of indoor and outdoor championships in adult tournaments. While coaching for Dunes he has led his 16s age group to Junior Olympic Nationals Championships in both 1999 and 2006. John has also coached at New Prairie High School, Lacrosse High School, and Portage High School. He lives in Laporte with his wife, Shari, and son, John III.
Larry Sheagley
This is his 19th year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. Larry coached JV at LaPorte High School from 1977-2003. He became Assistant Coach at Marquette in 2003, and still holds that position. Larry recently retired from teaching at LaPorte High School. He is currently teaching at Purdue North Central . Larry has been married for 41 years and has two married daughters and one granddaughter.
Dawn Swistek
Dawn (Kniola) Swistek has been either playing, officiating, or coaching volleyball for a large portion of her life. This is her 4th year coaching with The Dunes Volleyball Club. Dawn played Dunes the first 2 years the club was formed. She is currently coaching the 8th grade team at Westville Middle School. Dawn played 4 years of varsity volleyball for Rick Ashmore and was awarded in her senior year, Most Valuable Player of the Duneland Conference. Dawn lives in LaPorte with her husband Darrell, sons Austin and Carter, and daughter, Elise, who is playing Dunes and loving it!

Joy Brinkman
This is her 3rd year coaching with Dunes Volleyball Club. Joy played volleyball for Michigan City Rogers and Vincennes University. She lives in LaPorte with her husband Cary, son Adam, and daughter Amanda, who is playing Dunes 16’s.
Chris Dixon
Chris Dixon graduated from Butler University with a bachelor's in accounting. She started on the volleyball team all four years while in college and was the North Star Conference Player of the Year her senior year. She was inducted into the Butler Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999 and still holds several volleyball records. She coached varsity volleyball for 12 years and has been coaching various middle school and 10 & under club teams with Dunes for 8 years. She is the proud wife of Ed Dixon, who assisted her throughout her coaching career, and mother of three "charming" children: Logan, Sydney, and Kameron and has returned to the high school classroom after being on "child- bearing hiatus" for the past 8 years.
Kim Kirin
Kim Kirin has been involved with volleyball at the middle/high school and club levels for nine years. She is currently the freshmen coach at Lowell High School and will be advancing to the varsity head coaching position for the 2008-09 season. Kim coached at the middle school level under Lowell head coach, Wendy Pitcock for six years before moving up to the freshmen level in 2006. Kim has coached for the Northwest Elite Volleyball Club, the Lansing Parks Department’s summer volleyball program, and is currently in her fourth year of coaching in the Dunes Volleyball Club program. She currently teaches 8th grade Language Arts at Lowell Middle School.
Patty Rawlings
Coach Rawlings is very happy to bring her love of the game of volleyball to the Dunes Club. Coach Rawlings is currently the Boys Varsity Volleyball coach at Morgan Township High School. She has coached, for several years, at the Junior High, High School and club levels. She has previously coached at St. Mary's in Crown Point, Pierce Middle School in Merrillville, Kankakee Valley Middle and High Schools in Wheatfield. She has coached the Local teams for Dunes for 3 years. In addition to coaching volleyball, Coach Rawlings was President and Vice President of Hebron Little League for several years.
Gerald Riddle
Attended Indiana University for about 2 years, earned a electronics degree from Devry Technical . Retired since 2005. Wife is a school teacher for the past 15 years. IHSAA Official fpr over 25 years. Coached Jr High VB for 6 yars, Coached club VB for over 10 yrs. (Boy & Girls Club, Chicago Heights Stake). Been involved in youth athletics about 35 years (President of Glen Park Biddy Basketball for 6 years).. Married 43 years, 8 children (6 of which earned 30 varsity athletic letters, 3 which College Varsity Athletics.
