Adam Rykse


Adam Rykse is in his seventh season as a Dunes Volleyball Club Coach. He has previously coached the Dunes 18 Black, 16 Black, 14 Black, and 13 Black teams.

Rykse is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the IU South Bend volleyball program.

Rykse comes to South Bend after serving as an assistant volleyball coach at Valparaiso University from 2016-19. He previously spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a graduate assistant at Valpo and helped the program to 109 victories over his five years on staff.

In between his times at VU, Rykse also served as the Michigan State volleyball program’s video and statistical coordinator.

Rykse came to Valpo from Muskegon C.C., where he served as an assistant coach in 2012 after spending the 2011 season as a hitting instructor.  Rykse had previously assisted with video and photo work for statistics at Muskegon.  He also served as the school’s sports information director for the 2012-2013 school year.

Rykse is a 2012 graduate of Michigan State University, and received his master’s degree in sports administration from Valparaiso University in 2015.  While at MSU, he competed on the nationally-ranked club volleyball team for four years.
