Jim Daugherty


Entering his fourth  season as an assistant women’s volleyball coach for the Maple Leafs in 2017, Jim Daugherty continues a volleyball career that dates back to 1973. He will also serve as the inaugural head coach of the Maple Leaf men’s volleyball team when that sport debuts in January 2019. He played men’s club volleyball from 1977-84 before serving as an assistant coach at Plymouth High School. At Plymouth, Daugherty was an assistant from 1984 thru 1985. Where they won the first state runner-up  in school history. In 1986 he was the head coach at Culver Community High School where he guided them to their first Sectional and NSC conference championships. He has coached at several other area High Schools and most recently spent four years as the head coach at Argos High School.
Active in the club scene as well, Daugherty coached the South Bend Shamrocks in 1984 and 1985. In 1986, he founded the Marshall County Volleyball Club, serving as a board member for seven years, and was instrumental in starting the North Central Indiana Power Volleyball League. Most recently, he has worked the last 8 years for the Dunes Volleyball Club coaching 17 and 18 National travel teams. He has coached teams in the last 7 out of 8 AAU National Championships.

Daugherty is married to his wife, Susie; the couple have two children, Wil and Hannah
